Obsidian’s Avowed Is Showcased Ahead of the Xbox/Bethesda Event It’s a new entry in a franchise with some name value, but it’s not the kind of game that is obviously worthy of its own reveal event. While there’s no shortage of big reveals that 2K games could potentially bring to Summer Game Fest, this feels like one of the publisher’s most realistic reveal options. Those details are subject to change, but it does sound like the next Mafia game is further along in development than some previously suspected. The latest rumors regarding that mysterious Mafia 4 project suggest that the next Mafia sequel is actually a canonical prequel that will follow a young Don Salieri as he rises to power in Sicily. Mafia 4’s Trailer Showcases the Prequel’s Story and Setting If they are working on that content, then the studio’s previous DLC release timelines strongly suggest that we may get a sneak peek at that DLC sooner rather than later.

While we still don’t know if Elden Ring will get DLC updates, I’d be genuinely shocked if FromSoftware doesn’t release some kind of additional content for the game given its historic success. While it took just over a year for the studio to release the first piece of Dark Souls DLC, subsequent DLC for Soulsborne games have all been released within a year of the base game’s debut. Historically, FromSoftware doesn’t wait that long to release DLC for games they intend to support with add-on content. This is undoubtedly the biggest swing out of all my predictions, but it’s also not quite as crazy as you might think. There’s just a lot of smoke around this fire. Geoff Keighley loves to share updates to Hideo Kojima games whenever he can, and the leaks and rumors about this game have been coming fast and furious in recent weeks. If Death Stranding 2 is nearly ready for its public debut, then it makes a lot of sense for that debut to occur at Summer Game Fest. What we don’t know is when we’ll see the game or how far along it may be. Norman Reedus’ apparent inability to keep a secret has all but confirmed that Death Stranding 2 is in development. While I’m actually quite excited about this game, I think that a new preview could help address some of the f ears people had when they heard this game will be a card-based strategy title. Put it all together, and you’ve got a major 2022 game that we’re probably going to see more of in the very near future.Īt this point, I’d be shocked if we don’t see Midnight Suns at Summer Game Fest. Recent leaks also strongly suggest that the game is currently scheduled for an October 2022 release date. Reports suggest that Marvel’s Midnight Suns is being reworked in some way. 2K Games Shows Off Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ Rumored Rework I suspect the trailer itself will include a little gameplay, a little more story, and that long-awaited release date. There likely won’t be another major State of Play presentation until around September, so this is a good chance for PlayStation to release another teaser for the game before unleashing a gameplay showcase later this year. While it would be unusual for PlayStation to reveal the next major GoW trailer at SGF rather than one of their own events, this does make a lot of sense. That statement could easily be taken to mean that another previously revealed major game we haven’t seen in quite a while may also make an appearance at SGF. Furthermore, SGF organizer and host Geoff Keighley reminded those disappointed by the news that the show will primarily focus on previously announced games that Elden Ring was a previously announced game that tore the house down at previous shows. Recently, industry analyst Millie Amand shared a strange tweet that strongly suggests that she believes God of War Ragnarok will be featured at Summer Game Fest.
